Gothenburg hosts Jr. High State Track Meet

The Nebraska Jr. High State Championship Track Meet took place on May 13 at Gothenburg High School, and the facility was packed as there were 59 boys teams and 64 girls teams from across the state competing. The Gothenburg girls were able to rack up 21 points to tie for sixth place in the team standings.

The relay teams had a good day running, placing in all three races including a first place finish in the 4x800 with a record breaking time of 10:37.59, two seconds faster than the previous record also held by Gothenburg. Annica Harm placed sixth in the shot put.

On the boys side, Seth Daup threw his way into a sixth place finish in the shot put with a throw of 45-01. Ethan Riley hit the 10 foot mark pole vaulting, but wasn’t able to place.
