Pony Express Station kicks off season with open house
On Tuesday, April 11, an open house was held at the Pony Express Station, giving both locals and visitors an opportunity to see all the changes that have recently been made.
The Pony Express Station is located on Ehmen Park, and draws thousands of visitors every year. During the 2016 season, between April and October, just shy of 22,000 people signed the registry at the Station. Matt Weiss, president of the Station and curator of the Gothenburg Historical Museum, says that number only reflects guests who signed in. He believes the actual number of visitors to the Station is much higher than that, likely closer to between 30,000 and 40,000.To read more, see this week’s print or e-dition.
