Every child deserves more than a trash bag
Imagine being removed from the only home you’ve known, and sent to live with total strangers. The few – if any – items you are allowed to take are placed in a trash bag. Sadly, this is exactly what often happens in foster care. These are statistics that nurse practitioner Ann Scott of Gothenburg is very familiar with, and she has decided to do something about it.On a mission to replace the trash bags with duffle bags, Scott has launched such a project. Each duffle bag will come with a blanket, a pillow pet, journal and pencil, and personal hygiene supplies such as toothpaste, toothbrush, comb, etc. The cost for each bag is $25.
If you are interested in helping sponsor a foster care duffle bag, you can send your donation to: Ann Scott, 2640 Northaven Drive, Gothenburg, or call her at 308-537-3235.
