Gothenburg to receive $300,000 for home rehab
The City of Gothenburg has been awarded a Nebraska Affordable Housing Program Grant in the amount of $397,500 from the Department of Economic Development. These funds will provide owner occupied rehabilitation of 12 houses within the city limits of Gothenburg.
On Tuesday, Feb. 21, the Gothenburg City Council held a public hearing during their regular meeting to discuss and then approve the revised grant funding. Of those monies, $300,000 will be used for rehabilitation of owner occupied properties, while the remaining $97,500 will go toward general administration fees. Lead based paint removal is expected to total about $18,000.
